Overview
Adult Swimming Teacher Jobs in Lanark at Aquatica Adults Glasgow
Aquatica Adults Glasgow is expanding to New Lanark, and we’re looking for a warm, patient swim teacher to join us from June 2026.
We specialise in teaching adults – many of whom are complete beginners, nervous in the water, or returning after years away. It’s some of the most rewarding teaching there is: you’re not just building skills, you’re helping people overcome a fear they’ve often carried their whole lives. The moment an adult learner floats unaided for the first time is something special, and our teachers get to be part of it every week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Teaching adult swimmers of all abilities, from first-timers to improvers, in 1-to-1 sessions
- Delivering lessons that follow our structured Aquatica Adults curriculum (lesson plans provided)
- Creating a calm, supportive, judgement-free environment where nervous adults feel safe
- Demonstrating technique clearly and giving feedback that builds confidence as much as ability
- Keeping participants safe at all times and maintaining accurate progress records
What we’re looking for:
- A recognised swim teaching qualification (STA, Swim England, or equivalent)
- Genuine patience and empathy – the ability to put an anxious adult at ease is more important to us than anything
- Clear communication and the confidence to adapt your approach to each learner
- Reliability and professionalism
The details:
- Location: New Lanark
- Day(s): Monday Evening
- Self-employed basis, invoiced monthly
