Job Summary
Are you a team player? Love a friendly cafe environment? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast Cook & Front of House Team Member to join our busy café. This role involves preparing and cooking breakfast dishes, jacket potatoes and light lunches; serving drinks, taking orders, handling payments, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, possess strong organisational skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with availability as shifts will include weekends and school holidays. Previous experience in a cafe or hospitality setting is preferred. Various shifts are available including 0730-1600; 1000-1600 and 1100-1400
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast items maintaining quality standards
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the front of house
- Take orders, handle payments, and making hot drinks with professionalism
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts
- Assist in setting up and clearing tables, ensuring a tidy environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Experience in meal preparation and serving customers is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and culinary techniques is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a busy setting
