Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher willing to embrace the Montessori Philosophy to join our educational team and co-teach in a classroom with 25-29 students. The classroom will have two licensed and certified teachers in a self contained setting. This job will focus on the reading and social studies while your partner will work with the mathematics and science. This is a formula that has been successful for over a decade at our "A" rated High Performing Montessori Charter School in West Melbourne, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young students. As an Elementary School Teacher, you will be responsible for educating and nurturing children in grades 5th and 6th, ensuring they develop essential skills and a love for learning.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment.
- Educate students in various subjects, including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Conduct standardized testing and assess student progress through regular evaluations.
- Provide early intervention strategies for students who may need additional support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
- Mentor students to encourage personal growth and academic success.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate with parents regarding their child’s progress.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and diversity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; professional teaching certificate with the State of Florida is mandatory.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in literacy education, including reading and writing instruction.
- Ability to proofread educational materials for accuracy and clarity.
- Knowledge of early intervention techniques to support diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
- Previous childcare or mentoring experience is a plus.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $47,000.00 per year
