Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our newly refurbished Hayloft Cafe, servicing our equine competitions which run in the daytime on weekends, and our new target markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a well established cafe, that has undergone extensive refurbishment for individuals with a passion for food, and a commitment to excellence in hospitality.
Duties
- Ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Oversee all aspects of food production, including cooking, plating, and presentation
- Develop menu items in collaboration with management
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control waste to optimise resources
- Train new staff members in food preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor quality control to ensure consistency in taste, appearance, and portion sizes
- Assist in serving guests when required, providing excellent customer service
- Maintain a positive team environment through effective leadership and communication
Essential
- Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen supervisory role within a hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations, with relevant qualifications
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Passion for good food and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
