Position: Blending Operator/ Compounder
Location: East Dundee, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $17 – 20/hr.
Job Summary:
The Blending Operator / Compounder is responsible for preparing, measuring, and blending raw materials according to precise formulations to create high-quality solutions for wet wipes. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to operate mixing equipment and batch processing systems efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Blending & Mixing Operations:
- Accurately weigh, measure, and mix raw materials following exact formulation guidelines.
- Operate and monitor blending/mixing equipment, adjusting settings as needed to ensure proper consistency.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain high product quality.
- Perform quality checks during and after the mixing process to verify batch accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure all equipment and mixing areas are cleaned and sanitized according to company standards.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to OSHA, GMP, and company safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Handle chemicals and raw materials safely, following all hazard communication and PPE requirements.
- Monitor and maintain proper documentation and batch records to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality deviations to supervisors immediately.
Production Efficiency & Coordination:
- Work closely with the Production, Quality Control, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless workflow.
- Ensure batches are mixed on time and according to production schedules.
- Assist in troubleshooting mixing or equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Keep an organized work area and maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies needed for blending.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Batch Accuracy & Consistency – Ensure all formulas are blended correctly with zero deviations.
- Production Efficiency – Meet or exceed daily mixing targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Safety & Compliance – Follow all safety procedures with zero safety violations or incidents.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance – Maintain mixing equipment in optimal working condition with minimal downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in blending, mixing, or batch processing within a manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, or chemical production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise batch formulas and measurements.
- Ability to operate mixing tanks, pumps, and blending machinery.
- Familiarity with GMP, OSHA, and safety regulations for handling chemicals and mixing processes.
- Basic math and measurement skills to ensure correct ingredient ratios.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment or mixing issues.
- Ability to read and complete batch records, production logs, and safety documentation.
