Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Assistant to support the daily care and development of children within our organisation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, nurturing, and creating a safe, engaging environment for young learners. Duties
- Assist in supervising children during play, learning activities, and mealtimes to ensure their safety and engagement.
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment suitable for young children.
- Observe and record children’s progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff or parents as appropriate.
- Support children with personal care routines such as toileting, dressing, and feeding when necessary.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth daily routine and uphold organisational policies and procedures.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a childcare setting, nursery, or similar environment is advantageous.
- Level 2 Childcare a minimum.
- Safeguarding Training would be advantageous, but if not training can be done.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children and colleagues.
- A caring, patient demeanour with a genuine interest in supporting children’s development.
- Basic understanding of child safeguarding principles and health & safety regulations relevant to childcare environments.
- Ability to organise activities effectively whilst maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education who wish to develop their skills within a supportive team environment. All positions are paid, reflecting the value of your contribution to our organisation.
Job Type: Temp to perm
Pay: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
