Job Opportunity: Peripatetic Therapeutic Deputy Manager (Doncaster). This is an exciting opportunity for a Peripatetic Children’s Therapeutic Deputy Manager to join our company, supporting our three homes across the Doncaster area. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to join a progressive, trauma-informed group of Children’s Homes, working across multiple settings to provide leadership, stability, and therapeutic consistency. Our homes specialise in supporting young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural needs within a nurturing, Therapeutic Community framework.
Salary:
£34,000 – £36,000 per annum depending on experience, plus bonuses, pension, and other benefits.
This role includes an average of one contracted sleep-in per week, bringing the total salary to approximately £37,640 – £39,640 per annum.
- 28 days annual leave plus 3 paid wellness shifts per year
- Paid sleep-ins at £70/night
- Mobile phone and some travel expenses covered
As a Deputy Manager, you will receive:
- Ofsted bonuses (£250 per inspection)
- Full Occupancy bonuses (£50 per child per home per month)
Working Pattern
This role will involve a flexible working pattern across all three homes, including:
- On-shift working: 07:30 – 23:00
- Administrative shifts: 09:00 – 17:00
- Cross-site travel and responsive support based on service needs

About the Role:
This is a dynamic leadership role providing operational and therapeutic support across multiple homes. As a Peripatetic Deputy Manager, you will work flexibly across services to ensure consistency in care, leadership, and practice.Y ou will support Registered Managers and teams in maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and therapeutic delivery, stepping in where needed to provide guidance, stability, and oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management, coordination, and development of high-quality therapeutic care across all three homes
- Ensure each home meets and exceeds the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and all relevant legislation
- Promote consistency in therapeutic practice, relationships, and care approaches across services
- Provide strong, empathetic leadership and act as a role model across multiple teams
- Support staffing structures, team development, and performance across homes
- Step into homes as required to provide cover, guidance, or leadership during transitions, inspections, or staffing challenges
- Promote reflective practice and therapeutic thinking across all teams
- Deliver and support high-quality supervision, mentoring, and staff development
- Identify staff support needs and implement appropriate interventions
- Assist with recruitment, induction, and training across services
- Ensure all documentation (Care Plans, Risk Assessments, Behaviour Support Plans) is accurate, reflective, and consistent across homes
- Monitor and support safeguarding practices across all settings
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, medication, and operational procedures across all homes
- Support financial accountability and adherence to company procedures
- Promote and embed trauma-informed, attachment-based care across all services
Skills and QualificationsEssential:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in Residential Children’s Social Care (ideally at Senior Support Worker or above)
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches (e.g. PACE)
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential due to multi-site role)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding legislation
- Ability to support, challenge, and mentor staff across multiple teams
- Confidence in managing complex and challenging situations with a therapeutic, non-punitive approach
- Enhanced DBS and positive references
Desirable:
- Working towards or willingness to complete NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management
- Experience working across multiple homes or services
- Strong organisational and adaptability skills
