Job Summary
Hope Housing are seeking a diligent and reliable Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across our 13 houses and offices, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in their work and possess strong communication skills. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in communal areas
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all assigned spaces, including offices, washrooms, and communal areas
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, polishers, and steam cleaners safely and effectively
- Restock supplies such as hand soap, paper towels, and toilet roll as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to management promptly
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to meet their cleaning requirements
Experience
- Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is desirable
- Good communication skills in English are essential for effective teamwork and customer interactions
- Customer service experience is a plus, especially when engaging with clients or visitors
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between different locations
