Position Specific Summary

Under general supervision, performs and coordinates specialized work of a technical nature requiring a knowledge of specialized subject matter and electronic time and payroll management system. Duties involve the use of a computer and variety of software, and office equipment.

Characteristic Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes documents, such as reports, applications, and records, applicable to the time tracking and payroll system, requiring independent informational seeking, and knowledge of policies and procedures of both the assigned and work-related areas.
  • Performs clerical duties related to staffing and payroll
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of policies and procedures regarding payroll, including FCGL, FMLA as well as other pay types (e.g. overtime, comp., holiday, worker’s comp, etc.)
  • Serves as resource person for supervisory and administrative staff on patterns, policies, and procedures pertaining to staffing plans/targets/grids. Escalates issues and question as appropriate to nursing leadership
  • Keeps nursing leadership informed of challenges and changes related to staffing practices, plans, and scheduling patterns
  • Assures electronic processes related to staffing plans are completed timely and efficiently

Percent Time: 100%, 40 hours per week

Shift: Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 0700-1530 or 0800-1630

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Any combination of progressively responsible related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to four years of full-time employment

Desirable Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with peers, staff and nursing leaders
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications
  • Experience modeling service excellence principles and standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ELMS
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working in large academinc medical center
