CNC Process & Development Engineer Jobs in Worcester at Epwin Group

- To take ownership of Permadoor’s CNC preprocessing function, reducing manual intervention and disruption to production, improving machining reliability and efficiency, and releasing internal resource to support the ERP replacement programme
- Maintain and develop the CNC preprocessing system (OptiCAM / PEPs), including macros, machine definitions, and conversion logic
- Reduce reliance on manual adjustments currently required to process product variations
- Support the introduction of new products, hardware, and manufacturing requirements
- Improve efficiency of CNC machining processes and cycle times
- Work closely with production teams to resolve CNC-related issues and improve outputs
- Support integration between ERP / Window Designer outputs and CNC processing
- Document system behaviour and introduce structured change control
The role will work alongside:
- IT Systems Manager (Gordon Adam) – system architecture and ERP development
- Technical Manager (Robert Waltenberg) – product development and manufacturing standards
- Maintenance Manager (Dave Welsby) – machine optimisation and practical machining improvements
- Reduced manual intervention in CNC processing
- Improved consistency and reliability of machine output

As the CNC environment becomes more stable, the role will evolve towards: • Ongoing process optimisation and efficiency improvements
• Supporting efficient introduction of new products • Improving utilisation of CNC machinery Over time, there is also potential for the role to contribute to CNC capability across the Division, supporting Wrekin and Sierra where appropriate.
