Commercial Pest Lead Technician Jobs in Manhattan, NY at Good Neighbor Pest Company

Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Pest Technician and become a vital part of protecting businesses, properties, and landscapes from unwanted pests. In this energetic role, you will deliver effective pest control solutions tailored to commercial clients, ensuring their environments remain safe, clean, and pest-free. Your expertise will help maintain high standards of service while fostering positive relationships with clients. This paid position offers the opportunity to develop your skills in pest management, lawn care, and land maintenance within a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Duties

  • Service commercial accounts including hotels, offices, restaurants, multifamily apartment buildings, medical and healthcare facilities, coffee shops, and similar properties across NYC and the surrounding metro area
  • Perform inspections, treatments, and follow-ups for common commercial pest issues (rodents, cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, stored product pests, occasional invaders, and more)
  • Apply your active license to perform regulated treatments and maintain compliance with all state and local pesticide application requirements
  • Serve as the company’s certifying license holder (at the Commercial Applicator level), enabling GNPC to purchase restricted-use chemicals and supervise other technicians applying product under your certification as the team grows
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with facility managers, GMs, and on-site staff, representing GNPC as a trusted, professional partner rather than a vendor
  • Maintain accurate service records, treatment logs, and compliance documentation for every account
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend proactive treatment plans, helping clients move from reactive pest control to prevention
  • Provide direct, hands-on input into how GNPC builds its standard operating procedures, service protocols, routing, and quality standards
  • Help train and onboard future technicians as the company grows
  • Manage compliant chemical storage, inventory, and ordering through distributor relationships (e.g., Veseris, Univar, Target Specialty)
  • Own NYSDEC application recordkeeping and annual use/sales reporting, maintain the SDS library and OSHA Hazard Communication program, and keep every account audit- and inspection-ready
  • Keep your certification in good standing, including continuing-education credits and recertification (every 3 years)
  • Use field-service software (e.g., PestPac, FieldRoutes, or Briostack) for scheduling, service records, and compliant reporting

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of pest control techniques and products
  • Experience with sales or customer service to effectively communicate solutions and build client trust
  • Familiarity with lawn care, farming practices, landscaping, or agriculture is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, farm machinery, and gardening equipment
  • Valid driving license with a clean driving record for safe transportation between sites
  • Ability to operate and maintain various types of farm machinery and power tools safely
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly explain services and recommendations to clients
