WIDNES DEPOT OFFICE STAFF OPPORTUNITY
Newell & Wright Transport are a family run company operating since 1974 and are one of the leading transport companies in South Yorkshire, transporting freight containers by road and rail to customers across the UK. We serve many blue-chip companies as well as the largest globally recognized container shipping lines.
We have recently opened a container terminal in Widnes as part of our continued investment in the business.
Experience not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate. This position would suit a person wanting to start out and build a career in the transport industry. This position is permanent and full time. Due to the geographical location of our Widnes rail head and working hours this position would be more suited to a candidate with access to their own vehicle on a daily basis.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Liaising with drivers, customers, and rail operators
· Liaising with lifter drivers and ground staff
· Booking in & out of all HGV vehicles & visitors to site
· Controlling flow of traffic in and out of site
· Assisting the planning and co-ordinating of freight trains
· Conducting checks on all arrival freight train services
· Completing release forms for all departure freight train services
· Working to train carriage plans and setting up of carriages to achieve maximum capacity
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· IT literate
· Team Player
· Punctual and reliable
· Good communication skills
· Able to work under pressure
· Able to prioritise workloads
· Willing to work at multiple sites as and when required
· Car Licence (desirable)
· Own Transport (desirable due to location of site)
