Content Management Transformation Manager Jobs in Oxford, UK at Oxford University Press

We are seeking a strategic and forward‑thinking Content Management Transformation Manager to take ownership of transforming and evolving our Assessment Item Bank operating model – a core asset underpinning high‑quality, high‑stakes assessment delivery. This 12‑month fixed‑term contract role will shape the future direction, user experience, scalability and integrity of item bank systems, ensuring they support secure, reliable and psychometrically robust assessment products.

In close partnership with the Operations Director, the manager will lead the delivery of enhanced processes, workflows and systems that align with our regulatory ambitions and global growth strategy, supporting the development and maintenance of item banks for high‑stakes testing, including adaptive and large‑scale digital assessments.

Acting at the heart of assessment excellence, the role requires strong ownership across planning, decision‑making and delivery, and will handle responsibilities such as identifying user and business needs, shaping effective workflows, driving continuous improvement across content production and calibration processes, and exploring AI‑assisted tools to enable efficient, high‑quality content development.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying user and business needs.

  • Overseeing onboarding and training for contributors, ensuring consistency, quality and compliance with assessment standards.
  • Ensuring strong stakeholder alignment, high levels of user adoption and measurable improvements in workflow efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience leading a Content Management system transformation.
  • Knowledge of Assessment content processes is desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Familiar with a variety of project management methodologies including Lean Product Management and Agile.
  • Build and manage successful, collaborative relationships with customers, commercial partners, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrable experience successfully embedding change.
  • Communication, networking and influencing within a matrix structure to find consensus and a way forward that balances needs.
  • Great listening skills that facilitate gathering of information from a number of sources and building the best product roadmap.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with complex stakeholder management.
