About The Role

The Lab Assistant (Data Entry Representative I) based in Tucker, GA, is a vital part of our Specimen Processing Department. This full-time night shift role involves performing accurate and efficient data entry related to patient and client information. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of laboratory data, supporting the overall efficiency and quality standards of our laboratory operations. This role offers competitive pay starting at $17.75 per hour, with potential shift differentials and performance-based bonuses. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Prior experience in data entry, preferably within a production or laboratory environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately transcribe and verify client account numbers, patient demographics, and order codes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency in interpreting visual information and maintaining focus for extended periods
  • Ability to adhere to safety, confidentiality, and compliance policies
  • Demonstrated ability to meet productivity and quality standards within established timeframes
  • Physical ability to sit for long periods and perform detailed visual tasks

Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and verify client account numbers, patient demographics, and order codes into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Ensure all data entry functions are performed accurately and within specified timeframes
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies at all times
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting departmental productivity and quality standards
  • Develop an understanding of the entire Specimen Processing workflow and how individual functions contribute to overall operations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting team and departmental goals
  • Strive for continuous improvement in accuracy and productivity, aiming for 100% performance within six months
