About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Home Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day operations of our care home. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Support the Home Manager in the effective running of the home
- Lead, motivate, and develop staff to deliver exceptional standards of care
- Act as a key point of contact for residents, families, and external professionals
- Maintain staffing levels, rotas, and manage absence appropriately
- Participate in recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance management
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, the Mental Capacity Act, and DoLS
- Implement and monitor quality assurance systems and audits
- Maintain up-to-date policies and ensure staff adherence
- Respond to incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Liaise effectively with regulators, local authorities, and healthcare professionals
Resident Care
- Promote dignity, independence, and choice for all residents
- Ensure all residents have up-to-date, person-centred care plans
- Monitor and improve standards of care across physical, emotional and social needs
- Conduct assessments for new admissions
- Ensure safe and effective medication management
Operational Excellence
- Manage resources efficiently and support occupancy targets
- Oversee care delivery, risk assessments, and health & safety compliance
- Maintain accurate records with strict confidentiality
- Ensure high standards of nutrition, activities, and overall wellbeing
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a senior care or nursing role (Deputy or Team Leader level)
- Knowledgeable of CQC standards and care legislation
- A strong leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passionate about delivering person-centred care
- Able to remain calm, professional, and responsive in a fast-paced environment
Essential:
- Relevant care qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3/4/5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and best practice
- Experience supervising staff and managing performance
Desirable:
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with active NMC registration
- Previous Deputy Manager experience
