Job Summary
The Deputy Registered Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality domiciliary care services. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day management of care operations, supporting care staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding the highest standards of person-centred care.
The Deputy Manager will step in as the acting lead in the absence of the Registered Manager and will be instrumental in maintaining smooth service delivery, staff coordination, and safeguarding service users’ rights, privacy, dignity, and independence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Management of the Business
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the service, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of care.
- Contribute to the implementation of company policies, procedures, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Help monitor and improve performance standards in line with CQC regulations and best practices.
- Support the Registered Manager with audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.
- Participate in investigations related to complaints or incidents, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Customer-Centred Care Delivery
- Support the development and review of person-centred care plans in collaboration with customers and their representatives.
- Ensure risk assessments and service agreements are completed accurately and reviewed regularly.
- Act as a key point of contact for service users and their families, ensuring open communication and prompt response to concerns.
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and empowerment among service users.
Staff Supervision and Leadership
- Assist in recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring care staff.
- Support the induction of new team members and help manage ongoing professional development.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and support as needed.
- Help maintain accurate staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
Compliance and Health & Safety
- Support the implementation and monitoring of health and safety procedures in the office and the field.
- Act as deputy lead for infection prevention and control.
- Ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance in all records and communications.
- Assist in maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards.
Team Development and Business Growth
- Participate in team meetings and external forums as required, representing the service positively.
- Contribute to service development projects, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
- Work flexibly, including occasional on-call duties and support during emergencies or peak periods.

- Awareness of confidentiality, GDPR and record-keeping requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it)
- Experience in a senior care role within a domiciliary or health and social care setting
- Experience with care planning, risk assessments, and staff supervision
- Basic financial awareness (budgeting, payroll, resource management)

- Strong IT and administrative abilities
- Ability to manage time and workloads effectively
- Confident in dealing with customers, families and professionals
- Experience in leading by example and motivating a team
Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check (or willing to obtain one)
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points and Class 1 business insurance
- Willingness to work flexibly and undertake ongoing training

Pay: £30,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
