CNC Programmer / Tutor Assessor

Are you a skilled CNC programmer with a passion for developing others? At In-Comm, we are looking for a technically confident and enthusiastic CNC Programmer / Tutor Assessor to join our Aldridge Academy team. In this dual role, you will combine your hands-on machining expertise with teaching, coaching, and assessment — delivering high-quality training in CNC programming and machining (including milling and turning) to learners on apprenticeship and vocational programmes. Whether you are already in education or an experienced operator ready to make an exciting career transition, this is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to shape the engineers of tomorrow.

What We’re Looking For

  • A recognised engineering or manufacturing qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Proven industry experience in CNC machining, programming, and setting
  • Practical experience of setting up and operating CNC machinery
  • Strong knowledge of CNC controls, programming, and machining processes, including Fanuc and Siemens control systems
  • The ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions, adapting delivery to suit a range of learning styles and abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage learners at all levels
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • A teaching qualification (e.g. AET) or assessing qualification (e.g. CAVA) is desirable — training towards these is available and fully funded for the right candidate
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software or apprenticeship standards would be a welcome advantage
