Environmental Operative Jobs in Hereford at Waste Efficiency
Waste Efficiency is looking for a motivated and committed individual to join our team as an Environmental Operative, based at a customer site in Hereford.
As specialist waste management subcontractors, we are responsible for overseeing all on-site waste services and work in close partnership with our client’s HSE department on a day-to-day basis.
You’ll be joining a supportive team environment, working alongside an experienced member of staff who will guide you through the role. Operating forklift trucks and waste vehicles, you’ll play a key part in keeping the site running smoothly and sustainably.
Given the industrial nature of the site, a strong commitment to health and safety is essential. Full training will be provided on all relevant processes and risk assessments, and a high level of diligence and situational awareness is expected at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting waste materials around site, both manually and by vehicle
- Managing and maintaining the waste yard, including segregation of waste and recyclable materials
- Operating waste processing machinery safely and efficiently
- Loading skips and keeping the yard clean and well-organised
- Coordinating skip exchanges and waste movements with head office
About You:
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Experienced in operating machinery
- Positive, flexible, and dependable attitude
- Holds a current counterbalance forklift licence (essential)
- Holds a current clean drivers licence (essential)
Hours & Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm (37.5 hours per week), with potential overtime available on weekends.
