About Us
C.E.L Group (1989) Ltd is a family-run principal contractor specialising in the conservation, restoration and refurbishment of historic and listed buildings throughout the UK.
With a growing portfolio of heritage and specialist construction projects, we are seeking an experienced Banker Mason to join our in-house stone masonry team.
The Role
This is a hands-on position working across a variety of heritage, ecclesiastical and conservation projects throughout the UK. The role will involve both workshop-based banker masonry and site-based masonry works as required.
Your duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting drawings, templates and specifications.
- Cutting, shaping and finishing natural stone to precise dimensions.
- Producing ashlar, copings, cills, quoins, mouldings and bespoke masonry units.
- Carrying out banker masonry using both traditional and modern techniques.
- Undertaking stone repairs and masonry works on site where required.
- Working with limestone, sandstone and other natural stone materials.
- Maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship and quality.
- Assisting with project planning and material requirements.
- Adhering to company health and safety procedures.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as a Banker Mason.
- Ability to work accurately from drawings and templates.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
- Experience using both hand tools and masonry machinery.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel and work on projects throughout the UK when required.
Desirable
- Experience working on listed buildings and heritage projects.
- Relevant stonemasonry qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3).
- Experience of both banker and fixer masonry works.
