Facilities Manager
We are seeking an experienced, flexible, and professional facilities manager to oversee all building and grounds maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and upkeep. Must be able to communicate effectively, build teams and partnerships, work well with others, and enjoy working around children.
- Repair and maintenance of buildings, storage facilities, light bulb replacement, routine maintenance of all HVAC.
- Responsible for managing any remodels, refurbishing and repair of interior office spaces, classrooms and storage units, including minor carpentry, painting, sanding and refinishing of furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Moving office furniture, fixtures and equipment within and between sites to support staffing changes, relocations, remodels and program expansion.
- Handling minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Routine inspections of interior and exterior areas to ensure areas are free of safety hazards, trash, weeds and other foreign materials, etc.
- Manage all repair, maintenance and upkeep of playground structures, mechanical systems, fencing, parking lots and driveways.
- Snow removal- shovel snow to keep walkways and patios clear when snowing before during and after regular working hours. Start and end times may be temporarily adjusted if needed.
- Must be familiar with all fire and security systems and may be required to assist with emergency evacuation and safety drills.
- Available upon request for special events such as school programs, setup and breakdown, weather, and additional emergency-type events.
- Maintenance and upkeep of the chicken coop on the premises.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge, skills and experience in repair and maintenance of equipment, furniture, fixtures, facilities systems, grounds and structures.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and appropriately with others.
- Ability to read and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Daily lifting up to 50lbs
- Daily standing for periods of several hours while executing various tasks.
- Regular crouching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling etc. to facilitate various repairs and maintenance activities, including frequent ladder climbing.
- Regular reaching, including over-head to stock & retrieve supplies, equipment, painting, repairs etc.
Pay: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour
