BEDMAX SHAVINGS is a family owned company manufacturing high-quality shavings especially for horse bedding. Due to the growth of the business, we are currently recruiting for a Production Operative for our very busy manufacturing plant at Patchington near Andover.
Job Summary
The role of Production Operative is wide ranging and offers a great deal of variety. Potential to progress for the right candidate.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate the Bedmax bagging and drying equipment safely and efficiently, fault find basic problems and carry out preventative maintenance and daily checks to ensure the factory keeps running.
- Using a forklift to load our product onto a variety of customer vehicles.
- Some manual handling is also required; so physical fitness is a must. This work is on a rotating shift pattern to include night shifts.
Skills Required
- Forklift driving experience is essential
- You will need a good standard of written and spoken English and the ability to use a computer for basic tasks.

- You must be punctual and have a responsible, can-do attitude.
- You will be expected to use your initiative, undergo training and to work hard in support of a very busy team.
Salary
- £14.32 per hour.
- Night shifts are paid at an extra 20%, and overtime, when available, is paid at time and a half.
- Rotation shift weekly, Morning shift 5:45am – 2:15pm, Afternoon shift 1:45pm – 10:15 pm
Please note that due to the location of the plant your own transport is essential.
