Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to oversee our organisation’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a comprehensive understanding of financial management, accounting, and planning. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making and ensure the organisation’s financial health and compliance. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing financial services, controlling costs, and guiding the finance team towards achieving organisational goals.
Key responsibilities
· Raise all Sales Invoices in relation to Events Bookings, Sponsorship, Subscriptions and other funding.
· Provide detail analysis of events for discussion with the relevant team members
· Manage the fixed asset register and Capital Expenditure Budget
· Chase payment on all sales invoices ensuring payment terms are always met where possible – provide copy invoices to customers as required and ensuring all payments are bank in a timely manner
· Check and agree, securing appropriate authorisation, and enter all purchase invoices to agreed Departments and Nominal Codes
· Ensure prompt payments of all purchases are made through BACS payments, bank transfers and cheques
· Check all staff and board expenses claims are documented, processed and paid in a timely manner
· Check all credit card statements ensuring all receipts are attached and expenses approved as appropriate
· Manage the monthly payroll (Xero) function including P11ds, P35s, P45/6s Statutory Maternity and Sick Pay
· Upload pension contributions to true potential
· Reconcile all bank statements as appropriate including petty cash
· Review the deposit accounts and ensure the current account has appropriate funds for normal operations and liaise with Banks to move funds (after Authorisation)
· Maintain the Subscriptions Spreadsheet for month end journals
· Preparation of VAT returns
· Liaise with banking contacts to ensure all mandates are current and that correct treasuring management is followed.
· Manage Direct Debit Payments through Go Cardless
· Transferring event invoices from Cvent to Xero
· Process credit card payments
· Managing the annual audit
· Produce the finance papers for the board meetings.
· Prepare the monthly P&L with reporting
· Forecasting
· Preparing the annual budget and cashflow forecasts.
· Office administration & management
· Provide any other support which may be reasonably required from time to time within the scope of this post
Technical Skills
· Good level of Book Keeping skills, payroll management and VAT/ IR rules
· High levels of numeracy skills
· Understanding of Online banking websites
· Retrieval of data from Worldpay / Streamline website
· Good knowledge of Xero
· Production and modification of reports from Xero
· Good Microsoft Office Skills including Internet Explorer, Outlook, Word and Excel
· Budget preparation in Excel
Personal Skills
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Confident telephone manner in particular with Credit Control
· Must be a good communication both written and verbal
· Ability to write correspondence confidently and accurately
· Must maintain strict professionalism and confidentiality in relation to the work undertaken
· Must work to deadlines and respond in a flexible way to the changing demands of workload
· Excellent Organisational Skills including the ability to plan, organize and manage own workload
· Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with member companies and to be able to work within a small, high-pressured team with the upmost levels of respect
Pay: £33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
