Full-Time Maintenance Technician
Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Operations / Facilities
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Employment Status: Full-Time
Location: Frontiers of Flight Museum – Dallas, TX
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the Frontiers of Flight Museum facilities, exhibits, equipment, and grounds. This position ensures the Museum remains safe, clean, and operational for visitors, staff, and volunteers.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on problem solver with experience in building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical repairs, and general facility upkeep.
Responsibilities
General Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Complete preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain museum spaces, offices, restrooms, exhibits, and event areas.
- Assist with renovations, facility projects, and vendor coordination.
- Maintain maintenance records and inventory of supplies.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, faucets, toilets, and sinks.
- Perform basic electrical maintenance, including replacing lights, switches, and outlets.
- Support daily museum operations.
- Respond to facility emergencies and urgent repairs.
- Provide professional service when working with staff, volunteers, visitors, and vendors.
Safety
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and museum procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Properly use tools and safety equipment.
- Report safety concerns immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–3 years of maintenance experience required.
- Experience with plumbing and electrical repairs required.
- Experience in commercial buildings, museums, schools, or similar facilities preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Dependable, organized, and safety-focused.
