Governor Jobs in Truro at Penair School
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Governing Board.
Being a governor is a hugely important and rewarding role that offers you the chance to contribute positively to the education and welfare of the young people in our local community. Penair School is extremely committed to its pupils and you would be joining a diverse group of governors who play a big part in supporting the school to deliver on its core values of Pride, Belonging, Learning and Opportunity.
What does a Governor do?
Work with other governors and school leaders to set the school’s strategic direction
- Monitor the school’s performance and progress
- Help ensure resources are used effectively
- Support the wellbeing and achievement of all pupils
Who can apply?
We would like to make the governing board more representative of our school community. For this reason, we would particularly welcome applications from women, younger people and individuals from different ethnic backgrounds.
You do not need previous experience in education – just a commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
What’s involved?
- Attending governing board meetings
- Visiting the school to carry out Link Governor visits
- Working collaboratively with other governors and school staff
