An exciting temporary opportunity to join a team in a residential and dementia care home based in Woolton Hill in Newbury .
The role involves the day to day fixing of things, painting and up keeping of the home. this includes compliance health and safety.
hours are 8-4pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays
Holiday pay is 28 days holiday per year.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to identify issues before they escalate
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, fixtures, and building infrastructure
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to minimise disruption within the care home environment
- Liaise with management regarding maintenance schedules and project planning to optimise operational efficiency
Skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and team coordination
- Customer service orientation to address residents’ needs courteously and professionally
