Position: Island Head Teacher & Nursery Manager (Temporary)
Orkney Islands Council is seeking a Head Teacher for Papa Westray School, a small island community school. This temporary position offers 35 hours per week and a salary of £74,148 from 1 August 2026, including Distant Islands and Remote Islands Allowances.
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, be passionate about primary education, and foster community engagement. You will manage a small team and work closely with nursery staff to provide quality education for a combined roll of 9 children.
