Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV 1 Class Manual Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid HGV licence and have experience in logistical driving.
The position will involve transporting metal pallets to our customers in Fawley, typically delivering between 1-2 loads per day.
Based on a 40 hour week Mon-Fri
The wage is an hourly rate, will be £16.80 plus a paid monthly attendance bonus of £100 and a productivity bonus of £100 per month.
28 paid days holiday per year in addition to bank holidays and weekends.

Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition
- Load and secure goods onto the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and safety during transit
- Deliver goods to specified location within designated timeframes, maintaining professionalism and courtesy with clients
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Follow planned routes and adapt to any unforeseen circumstances or route changes efficiently
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle throughout shifts
- Comply with all legal requirements related to driving hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety standards
- Willingness to be trained on forklifts
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for large vehicle operation
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading and securing cargo safely
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
