Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our family run business. This role involves long-distance freight transportation, primarily using curtain-side trailers, across UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of professionalism and compliance with road safety regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking to specialise in commercial driving and delivery operations.
- £36,400 per year
- £135 per week guaranteed nights out
- £50 per week Meal allowance with receipts

Duties
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, in accordance with legal and company standards
- Conduct pre-journey safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure roadworthiness
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Drive across designated routes, managing long-haul trips as a tramper, including overnight stays
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections
- Comply with all traffic laws and company policies during transit
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to the relevant departments
- Assist with manoeuvring and positioning of trailers at loading/unloading sites when required
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence
- 2 years experience
- 25 years or over for Insurance
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for freight transportation
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during long-distance trips
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
Pay: £36,400.00 per year
