Housekeeper – Elderly Medicine Jobs in Chorley at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

This role is essentially housekeeping, to support the team in a busy Medical ward by

undertaking a range of activities which contribute to the maintenance of a safe and clean environment,

i The housekeeper will work directly under the supervision of the nurse in charge

The duties and responsibilities listed below should be undertaken in accordance with the levels of competence

as defined in the KSF outline for this post. In addition all staff are expected to act in accordance with the values

and behaviours of the Trust

Excellent care with compassion

patients and relatives receive excellent care with compassionMaintenance of clinical environment and control of

infection control issues.

  • Ensure a clean, safe, tidy and comfortable clinical

environment.

To ensure the safe storage of equipment and

maintenance of unit stock level

To prepare and serve hot/cold drinks as required for the patients

Clerical duties are expected

Assist with unit audits.

You will need to be an excellent team player with a committed and professional approach, playing a key role in maintaining a clean and safe environment; You will provide support with basic administration duties, maintenance of stock including ordering & stock rotation and the provision of refreshments to patients.

Maintenance of clinical environment and control of

infection control issues.

Ensure a clean, safe, tidy and comfortable clinical

environment including maintenance of the clinical environment, control of infection and reporting of malfunctioning equipment .

Maintaining unit stock levels and ensuring that stock levels are set to ensure availability of all required stock but not an over stock of any items.. Some clerical duties may be required.

Providing drinks round to patients during the day unless otherwise specified.
