Duties
- Review and verify patient insurance information to ensure accuracy before procedures or treatments are performed
- Submit insurance claims electronically using EMR (Electronic Health Records) systems, following all compliance standards
- Follow up on unpaid claims, resolve denials, and coordinate with insurance companies to facilitate timely reimbursements
- Maintain comprehensive dental records, including detailed documentation of billing codes, correspondence, and payment history
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance coverage, billing questions, and payment options
- Stay updated on changes in dental coding standards, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical or dental office administration or healthcare billing with a focus on insurance coordination
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental records management, and billing procedures
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for data entry and claim submission
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling sensitive patient information
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members, insurance representatives, and patients in a professional manner
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to dental/Medical billing and coding standards is highly preferred
