Investment Associate Jobs in United Kingdom at SRG

Title: Investment Associate

Company: SRG

Location: United Kingdom

Investment Associate / Senior Investment Analyst

About the Fund

Our client is a UK-based, founder-led venture capital fund investing in early stage, innovation-driven businesses.

The fund primarily invests at Seed and Series A, with a focus on companies developing technologies that require specialist support to move from research and product development into manufacturing, commercialisation and market adoption.

Its investment areas include:

  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Deep technology
  • Medical technology
  • Industrial biotechnology
  • Recycling and the circular economy
  • Sustainable materials and processes
  • Other technology led industrial sectors

The fund typically backs businesses approaching an important stage of technical or commercial development. These companies may be raising institutional investment for the first time or may already have completed several funding rounds.

The team is currently raising and deploying EIS capital while developing the platform for additional future funds.

The Opportunity

The fund is seeking an experienced Investment Associate or Senior Investment Analyst to join its small investment team.

This is not a traditional analyst position. The successful candidate will be expected to take meaningful responsibility from the outset, operate with limited supervision and manage investment opportunities through the complete transaction lifecycle.

The role requires someone who can independently assess opportunities, coordinate due diligence, progress transactions and provide constructive challenge to founders, management teams and the fund’s Partners.

The fund is looking for a candidate who combines strong analytical ability with commercial judgement, process discipline and a practical, delivery-focused approach.

A scientific PhD is not required. Experience assessing technically complex or innovation led businesses would be helpful, but the quality of the candidate’s investment experience, judgement and attitude will be more important than sector specialisation.

For the right person, the position offers significant responsibility and a credible route to partnership.

  • Build relationships with founders, investors, accelerators, advisers and other participants in the venture ecosystem.

  • Lead the initial screening and assessment of potential investments.
  • Evaluate business models, management teams, markets, technologies, competitive positioning and commercial potential.
  • Build and review financial models, forecasts, cap tables, valuation analyses and investment return scenarios.
  • Identify the key commercial, financial, operational and execution risks within each opportunity.
  • Test the assumptions presented by management teams and identify areas requiring further investigation.
  • Coordinate commercial, technical, financial and legal due diligence.
  • Prepare clear and well-supported investment papers for the Partners and Investment Committee.
  • Present findings, risks and recommendations with confidence and objectivity.

Transaction Execution

  • Manage investment opportunities from initial assessment through due diligence, approval and completion.

  • Provide market, portfolio and fund analysis to support investor conversations.
  • Participate in meetings and presentations with prospective investors where appropriate.
  • Help communicate the fund’s investment strategy, market positioning and portfolio performance.
  • Support the development of future EIS and other investment fund propositions.
