Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen areas are kept spotless and assisting with basic food preparation tasks as needed. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry and develop culinary skills in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Washing, drying, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables or preparing ingredients under supervision.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, storage areas, and communal spaces within the kitchen.
- Supporting the kitchen team during service periods by ensuring all necessary items are ready for use.
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Restocking supplies and ensuring that cleaning materials are stored safely and correctly.
- Adhering to all health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations is beneficial.
- Experience in serving or working within a culinary setting can be an asset.
