Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscaping Team Leader to oversee and coordinate our landscaping projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of landscape maintenance, and hands-on experience with various landscaping. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in delivering high-quality outdoor environments, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing daily operations, supervising team members, and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth workflow across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example while carrying out a variety of landscaping tasks, including planting, turfing, ground preparation, and other soft landscaping works.
- Read and interpret landscape drawings and specifications to ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required standards.
- Supervise, motivate, and monitor a landscaping team to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control across all aspects of landscaping operations.
- Operate and maintain a range of power tools, machinery, and hand tools safely and efficiently, ensuring equipment is kept in good working order.
- Complete and review risk assessments and ensure all health and safety procedures are followed on site.
- Carry out and record daily vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Take and submit clear before, during, and after photographs of completed works in accordance with company procedures.
- Liaise professionally with site agents, clients, and other contractors before, during, and upon completion of works to ensure requirements are met and any issues are resolved.
- Ensure all team members comply with company policies, site rules, and health and safety regulations.
- Monitor materials, equipment, and labour resources to maximise productivity and minimise waste.
- Report progress, site issues, and project updates to management as required.
Skills
- Proven experience in all aspects of soft landscaping
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to garden machinery and power tools.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely for various landscaping tasks.
- Knowledge of construction principles relevant to outdoor environments.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan work schedules efficiently.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Ability to problem-solve on-site issues promptly while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional passionate about outdoor environments who is eager to lead a skilled team in delivering exceptional landscaping projects.
Pay: £36,400.00 per year
