Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and hygienic processing of laundry within a hospitality environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting the overall cleanliness and presentation standards of our care home. Previous care home experience is considered advantageous but is not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key qualities we value.
Duties
- Collect, sort, and load laundry items into washing machines and dryers according to established procedures.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Fold, iron, and organise clean linen and clothing items for distribution across the property.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, ensuring it remains organised and hygienic at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and notify management when stock needs replenishing.
- Assist with special laundry requests from service users as required.
- Follow all organisational policies regarding handling of linen, chemicals, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Physically fit, capable of standing for extended periods and lifting moderate loads.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adhere to company procedures.
