We are looking for a high energy Loader Planner/ Dispatcher with a passion for results to join our inbound transportation team! This position works for our purchasing department and will efficiently plan and tender the pickup and delivery of UFP’s Inbound Truckload freight.
You will work in a dynamic environment where thinking outside of the box and improvement is celebrated. The ideal candidate must be self-driven with a proactive, goal- oriented approach that thrives in fast- paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for carrier sourcing, negotiating rates, booking and dispatching of each load in your region.
- Proactively communicate with buyers, shippers and carriers to ensure timely pickups and identify any existing or potential issues.
- Problem solve and quickly act upon unexpected issues during the loading, in- transit, and delivery process.
- Provide timely and accurate updates.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing carriers, shippers, and facilities.
- Pursue continuous improvements by consistently analyzing your region’s loads, carrier availability and rates.
- Perform other incidental and administrative duties as required
Qualities/Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the trucking industry: Load planning, dispatch, and/or brokering.
- Refrigerated freight and/or produce hauling experience a plus.
- Positive Can-Do attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Must thrive in fast paced environments and able to adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent multi-tasking communication and organizational skills.
- Problem solving mindset with strong decision making and negotiating skills
This position is full-time and will be training Monday-Friday 8.am.-4:00p.m. (Schedule may vary 1-1.5 hours after training, depending on where you are assigned.)
Occasional After hours calls and 1-2 rotating weekends per month availability is required.
Pay: $48,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year
