JOB TITLE: Maintenance Parts Clerk Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Parts Clerk is responsible for managing the inventory, purchasing, and distribution of maintenance parts and supplies in a fast-paced leafy greens processing environment. This role ensures critical spare parts are available to support production uptime, minimize equipment downtime, and maintain efficient plant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance parts, spare components, and consumables
Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming materials
Issue parts to maintenance team and track usage in Upkeep (SAP preferred)
Monitor stock levels and reorder materials to prevent shortages
Process purchase requisitions, coordinate with vendors and maintain delivery documentation
Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory audits
Maintain an organized, clean, and audit-ready parts room
Stage parts for preventive maintenance and work orders
Track backorders and expedite critical parts as needed
Maintain professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions
Follow all company policies, procedures, safety and GMP guidelines
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts
Good teamwork and communication skills
Must be able to work closely with others
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation
Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office and purchasing management systems
Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team
Punctual, reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent required
2+ years’ experience in inventory, warehouse, or maintenance support preferred
Experience with document management and workflow
Experience in manufacturing or food processing environment strongly preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Able to work in loud, cold and wet environment. Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally. Any specialized tools needed for a specific task, will be provided by the company and are to remain on site in the company designated storage area. Pay: $21.00 per hour
