Benefits Specialist
We are currently hiring a Benefits Specialist for a well-established employer partner. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detail-driven, analytical work- supporting employees through accurate benefits administration and reliable, behind-the-scenes problem-solving.
Hours and Wages
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- $22.00 per hour, based on experience
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate with Payroll to ensure deductions and reversals are handled correctly, including tracking employee payment plans for balances owed.
- Gather data and build out scheduled reports for analysis.
- Record and manage information related to work-related injuries, including maintaining the scheduling database and updating non-litigated workers’ compensation files.
- Field inbound calls from employees and vendors regarding rates and injury-related information; provide on-site support to employees in St. Cloud.
- Serve as a go-to resource for employees with benefits questions.
- Conduct monthly benefit billing audits and reviews of employee deduction records.
- Monitor attendance records to determine eligibility for company-sponsored benefit programs.
- Cross-train on other Benefits team functions and provide backup support- from distributing materials to coordinating with outside vendors.
- Maintain benefits billing records with accuracy and timely reconciliation, in line with internal procedures and vendor requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; must be at least 18 years of age.
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in benefits or HR preferred.
- Working knowledge of employment, workers’ compensation, and benefits practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information.
- Comfortable at a desk and computer for extended periods; able to lift up to 15 lbs.
