Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within a vibrant early childhood education setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role offers an opportunity to utilise strong management and leadership skills while making a positive impact on young lives. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nursery team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
- Oversee the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and quality standards
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and staff to support children’s individual needs
- Organise staff rotas, recruitment, training, and performance appraisals using nursery management software ( family )
- Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance nursery standards and service delivery
- Support children’s emotional well-being and behavioural development through positive guidance strategies
Experience
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting at least 3 years as a senior manager
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Extensive knowledge of childcare practices, child development, and early childhood education principles and supporting children with additional needs
- Experience working directly with children and understanding their developmental needs
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting resources or attending external meetings or events
- Ability to build a new team to ensure outstanding provision across the nursery
