Optician Job Description
The Optical Lab Technician is responsible for fabricating eyewear on a daily basis and ensuring quality and standards are met.
Optical Lab Technician Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Cuts, grinds, polishes and finishes lenses
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleanings, maintenance and minor repairs of equipment
- Assembles eyeglasses and use optical tools properly
- Performs equipment calibrations daily
- Inspect all eyewear to ensure flawless quality
- Manage workflow, adhering closely to job deadlines and keeping up with production
- Minimize breakage and material waste
- Notify lab manager of issues with equipment
- Adheres closely to safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service
Optical Lab Technician Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to perform basic math
- Professional demeanor with the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of related experience, optical lab experience preferred.
