Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention at the scene and during transport.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications via injections, manage airways with advanced airway techniques, and utilize DME (Durable Medical Equipment) for patient stabilization.
- Conduct triage to prioritize care based on injury severity and medical urgency at the scene and within hospital settings.
- Operate and monitor medical devices such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV infusion pumps during critical care transport.
- Maintain clear documentation of patient care procedures, vital signs, medication administration, and incident reports following aseptic techniques.
- Drive emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and heavy lifting protocols to ensure swift arrival at incident sites.
Qualifications
- Valid EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification with experience in emergency medicine settings.
- Critical care experience within hospital or trauma center environments preferred; Level I Trauma Center experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient assessment techniques.
- Proficiency in airway management, venipuncture, injection administration, medication delivery, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience with critical care transport services and familiarity with Level II trauma centers is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical examinations under stressful conditions while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to lift heavy equipment safely as required for emergency response scenarios. Pay: $24.00 – $31.70 per hour
