Who Are We?
Long Furlong Badger Club provides wraparound care for pupils aged 4-11 at Long Furlong Primary School. We offer morning and afternoon sessions five days a week, providing a fun, relaxed, safe and caring environment in which all pupils are encouraged to take part in a wide range of stimulating extra-curricular activities.
Role Summary
We are looking for a play worker (aged 17+) to join the team and support our mission to give children a warm, fun and friendly after-school environment, which is vital to the parents of the school community. If you are an enthusiastic and friendly person who loves looking after children, we want to hear from you!
Job Description
- Suggesting, setting up and supervising a range of crafts, games and other activities relevant to the pupils
- Supervising snack times, preparing and tidying up as required
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Ensuring the health and safety of all children, including signing out children as they depart
- Ensuring that staff: pupil ratios are always kept throughout the sessions
- Multitasking to ensure that the club is running smoothly at all times and children are happy
- Adhering to the club policies
Key Requirements
- Enthusiastic, friendly and able to be flexible to the needs of the club
- Previous experience of working with children ideal, but training will be provided
- Ability to multitask
- Innovative with ideas for sessions
Hours
Part-time, term time only
We are currently looking to fill vacancies for the following shifts starting in September – job share and flexibility is possible:
Breakfast club: 07.30 – 09.00 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Afterschool club 15:00-18:00 Tuesday (x2 vacancies), Wednesday and Thursday.
More shifts will be available on a flexible basis
Salary
Dependant on age, experience and qualifications; £8.50 – £12.80 per hour
Safeguarding, food safety and first aid training will be provided once the post has been appointed. Badger Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
