C & D South West is looking for a dedicated PM Warehouse & Operations Supervisor to oversee the critical afternoon transition and evening closure of our Martock depot. This role is designed for a professional who excels at administrative accuracy and takes pride in "crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s" to ensure the day’s operations are wrapped up perfectly.
As the anchor of our afternoon shift, you will be responsible for overseeing the PM load-out administration and the final secure closure of the depot. While this is an administrative-focused role rather than a supervisory one, you will be the go-to person for ensuring our systems and paperwork match the physical reality of the departing freight.
Role Purpose
The PM Supervisor is the final link in our daily operational chain. You will ensure that all afternoon outbound vehicles are documented correctly, that the day’s digital records are finalised, and that the site is secured for the night.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Administration: Administration of Our Warehouse Operations
- Depot Closure: Responsible for the formal end-of-day shutdown and secure locking of the depot once operations are complete.
- PM Load-Out Admin: Overseeing the documentation for outbound freight, ensuring all manifests are accurate and every pallet is accounted for before departure.
- System Finalisation: Ensuring the TMS (Transport Management System) and Pallet Network portals are fully updated with the day’s data, including processing final PODs and delivery paperwork.
- Discrepancy Management: Identifying and logging any damages or loading discrepancies in real-time to protect the business.
- Driver Liaison: De-briefing returning drivers, collecting paperwork, and handling administrative queries as the fleet returns to base.
- Operational Flexibility: Due to the nature of logistics, a flexible approach to finish times is required to ensure the last vehicle is cleared and the site is secure.
Candidate Profile & Skills
Essential:
- Responsibility: As a keyholder responsible for site closure, a high level of trust and reliability is non-negotiable.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Google Mail, Word, Excel, and the ability to confidently navigate Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Attention to Detail: A "right first time" mindset—crucial for catching errors before the depot closes for the night.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with drivers and provide an accurate handover for the morning team.
Highly Desirable:
- Logistics Experience: Previous experience in a transport office, pallet network, or warehouse environment.
- Forklift License: A valid Counterbalance license to assist with the occasional loading/unloading requirement during peak afternoon windows.
