Duties
- Receive, unload, and organize produce shipments using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts while following safe lifting practices.
- Use scanners to accurately track inventory levels and update stock records in real-time.
- Stock shelves and display cases with fresh produce, ensuring items are properly rotated for freshness and visual appeal.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the produce department by performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Assist customers with locating products, answering questions about produce varieties, and providing excellent service in multiple languages if applicable.
- Monitor inventory levels regularly to prevent shortages or overstocking; coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishments.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by loading and unloading deliveries efficiently and safely.
Requirements
- Proven warehouse experience or retail experience in grocery stores preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory control effectively.
- Experience operating equipment such as scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other materials handling tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely throughout the shift.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and retail math to ensure accurate stock counts and pricing.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
