About us
Heiwa Tofu is a small food manufacturer in Rockport, ME producing high quality, organic tofu from Northeast grown soybeans. Our goal is to create clean and wholesome food that we are proud to feed to our families, friends, and community. We are committed to this mission through a focus on: food safety, food quality, customer satisfaction, and positive and supportive relationships within and beyond our walls.
Our crew of 10-12 produces over 12,000 pounds of tofu every week. They are central to the success of the business and we treat them with respect. We maintain a friendly, supportive environment.
Initial responsibilities involve tofu production work, daily cleanup and record keeping. This is a year-round position available immediately. The pace of work is a very steady and fairly quick paced. You are on your feet and moving all day. Sloths need not apply.
Shift start times available between 6am and 9am.
The right candidate must:
+be good-natured
+enjoy a busy, active workplace
+have a strong work ethic and commitment to being a team member in a growing, family-run business
+have reliable transportation to the facility in Rockport. ME
+be able to regularly lift 30-40 lbs throughout your shift.
+be able to stay on your feet most of the work day
+be comfortable performing basic arithmetic
Regular raises start after the first three months. Quarterly bonus of about $1/hr.
