Job Summary
As a Residential Childcare Coordinator, you will play a key role in creating a structured, caring environment where young people can thrive. You will help oversee day-to-day care, coordinate activities, and ensure the highest standards of wellbeing and safeguarding are maintained. The service operates on a rotating shift pattern comprising 6:00am–2:00pm, 2:00pm–10:00pm, and 10:00pm–6:00am. Staffing arrangements ensure continuous coverage across all shifts. During night shifts, both members of staff are required to remain awake and on duty at all times to maintain safety, responsiveness, and quality of care. The service is situated within a peaceful rural setting, providing a calm and supportive environment. The surroundings contributes to a tranquil atmosphere, promoting wellbeing and a sense of stability. This location offers a quiet, low-stimulation setting while still enabling access to local amenities and community resources.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day running of the residential home
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Coordinate activities, routines, and care plans
- Ensure safeguarding and care standards are consistently met
- Work collaboratively with the wider team and external professionals
About You
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Caring, reliable, and emotionally resilient
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in residential childcare (or similar setting) is desirable
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
