Senior Sales Representative – Timber & Building Merchants Jobs in Glasgow at Kelvin Timber
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Sales Advisor to join our team at Kelvin Timber.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone with solid product knowledge of timber and building materials, and who thrives in a busy trade counter environment. If you’ve got the confidence to advise customers, manage enquiries, and handle orders like a pro, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serving customers face-to-face at the trade counter with professional, friendly service
- Handling inbound phone and email enquiries with a sales-focused approach
- Preparing quotes, processing orders, and advising on suitable products
- Working closely with the purchasing team to source non-stock items
- Building strong relationships with trade customers
- Contributing to team sales targets and branch success
- Supporting the wider team when needed – this is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of role
- Ensuring stock is up to date and manage stock taking
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a builder’s merchant, timber yard, or trade sales environment
- Solid understanding of timber and general building materials
- Confident communicator with a customer-first attitude
- Positive, proactive, and ready to hit the ground running
- Comfortable using computer systems to process orders and stock
- A team player who can also work independently and manage their own workload

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £27,420.00-£32,000.00 per year
