A market-leading consumer products/food business is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Director to join its Senior Leadership Team during an exciting period of growth and operational evolution.
This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for ensuring the business has the operational capability, infrastructure and supply chain performance required to support its next stage of growth.
We're looking for a leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Someone who enjoys shaping the future direction of a business whilst remaining close enough to the operation to drive performance, challenge inefficiencies and ensure plans translate into results.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain function, leading warehousing, inventory, planning, logistics and operational improvement initiatives.
You'll be responsible for creating an operation that consistently delivers outstanding customer service, strong stock availability, disciplined cost control and scalable processes that support future growth.
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing long-term strategy in the boardroom as they are walking the warehouse floor, reviewing KPIs with managers and driving improvements through the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the overall supply chain and operational strategy.
- Drive improvements in customer service, fulfilment performance and operational reliability.
- Optimise inventory levels and working capital performance without compromising service.
- Build scalable processes, systems and controls to support future growth.
- Deliver productivity improvements across warehousing, logistics and operational functions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, service and cost reduction.
- Develop and mentor operational leaders, building a high-performance culture.
- Provide meaningful operational insight and challenge within the Senior Leadership Team.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational discipline.
About You
You'll be an experienced supply chain or operations leader with a track record of delivering results within a fast-paced product-led environment.
You'll likely bring:
- End-to-end supply chain leadership experience.
- Strong warehousing, inventory and logistics expertise.
- A proven ability to scale operations whilst maintaining control and service standards.
- Commercial awareness and a strong understanding of working capital drivers.
- Experience leading change and driving operational improvement.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- A pragmatic, resilient and highly credible leadership style.
- The ability to move seamlessly between strategic planning and operational execution.
