Transport Planner / Trainee Transport Planner in bulk transport office.
An opportunity has arisen within Stennetts Transport for a Transport Coordinator.
The purpose of this role is to coordinate a fleet of HGV vehicles to meet set targets delivering grain, animal feed and aggregates throughout the UK.
To carry out the role effectively, you will be expected to:
- Complete associated administration, including updating of the Haultech computer system
- Being the first port of call for customer contact and provide real time information on transport order progress
- Update orders and report completion
- Provide briefing and de-briefing for drivers
- Become trained in operational and legislative aspects of UK road haulage
- Shadow the transport managers and train to provide cover when required
- The successful candidate will be IT literate and will have excellent communication skills. A flexible working attitude is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure.

Established in 1973, Stennetts are a successful UK bulk Logistics and storage business dedicated to providing quality solutions with an emphasis on excellent customer service. Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an experienced Traffic Operative to join our existing team at Ingham, Suffolk.
You will have a transport background and experience ideally gained from a bulk tipper type operation. This opportunity will suit an individual capable of thriving within a busy and fast paced environment.
Assist with general office duties
· Process relevant customer paperwork
· Ensure all deliveries are completed on time
· Issue collection instructions to drivers
· Answer incoming telephone calls
· Liaise with customers and colleagues in a professional and timely manner, using email and telephone
· Legislative compliance
· Deal with unexpected situations, delays, RTA’s
. Operate the weighbridge for public and storage purposes
The role will include finding back loads for vehicles spontaneously due to cancelled loads or unforeseen circumstances, paying contact attention to work available emails and creating relationships with our customers across the UK
Key Attributes and Skills
· Excellent Communication skills – written and verbal.
· Data input with attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong customer service orientation
· Able to work as part of a team
· Good geographical understanding of the UK
· Highly motivated and capable of working within a pressured environment
· Willingness to work every fourth Saturday morning (rota system)
· Must be flexible with working hours
This is a full time, permanent position, salary will be commensurate with experience. This role is subject to a three-month probation period.
The Traffic Operative will work from our offices located in Ingham, Suffolk, operational hours are Monday to Friday within the hours 06.00 – 18.00 hrs
Willingness to work every third Saturday AM and take out of hours telephone calls on a rota system
