The Opportunity
Factory Direct Supply is looking for a building materials specialist to run our West Palm Beach distribution warehouse — not a generalist who happens to have warehouse experience. This is our flagship facility: walk-in trade customers on the floor daily, e-commerce orders shipping out, and delivery trucks staging simultaneously across 15,000+ SKUs.
If you can tell a contractor the difference between a Tapcon and a wedge anchor without looking it up, know your fasteners cold, and have handled material across concrete, masonry, structural metals, wood, and thermal/moisture protection (CSI Divisions 03–07) — keep reading. If your background is general warehousing, parcel, or e-commerce fulfillment with no building materials exposure, this role will overwhelm you and you will not be considered.
About Factory Direct Supply
Factory Direct Supply is a Florida-based integrated building materials company with six locations across the state. We distribute rebar, structural accessories, fasteners, concrete hardware, anchoring systems, and a full tool and consumables mix — backed by in-house rebar and structural steel fabrication that most distributors simply can’t match. The West Palm Beach facility is our showplace location: the face of the company for walk-in contractors and a key staging hub for deliveries across the region.
The Role
This is a hands-on ownership role. You’ll run the floor like it’s your own business:
- Own day-to-day warehouse operations — receiving, put-away, picking, staging, and shipping across 15,000+ SKUs
- Maintain inventory accuracy and a clean, organized, customer-facing facility at all times
- Lead and hold accountable a team of pickers, packers, and forklift operators
- Manage simultaneous walk-in trade traffic, e-commerce order fulfillment, and outbound delivery staging without dropping a ball
- Serve as a product knowledge resource for trade customers and your own team — fasteners, anchors, rebar accessories, and general building materials
- Partner with dispatch and sales to keep material flowing on schedule
- Help lead the shift from manual pick/pack processes toward more advanced, systems-driven inventory and fulfillment workflows as FDS modernizes its operations — you’ll be part of building the next version of this warehouse, not just running the current one
- Enforce safety standards and proper material handling across the facility
What We Need
- Building materials, lumber/builder supply, or construction distribution experience — required, non-negotiable
- Working product knowledge across fasteners, anchors, and general hardware, with exposure to concrete, masonry, structural metals, wood, and moisture protection materials (CSI Divisions 03–07)
- Experience managing inventory accuracy at scale (5,000+ SKUs)
- Comfort operating in a multi-channel environment — walk-in counter, e-commerce, and delivery staging running at once
- Forklift proficiency (standard, reach truck, order picker)
- Leadership experience — you’ve run a crew and held people accountable
- Openness to new systems — we are actively moving away from manual inventory tracking toward modern pick/pack and delivery technology, and we need someone who wants to help build that, not resist it
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Pay: $55,488.49 – $66,824.84 per year
