Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Yard Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient handling of materials, bagging of materials, operating equipment, and maintaining safety standards within our outdoor yard environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity
Duties
- Load and unload materials, bagging materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Manage materials handling tasks, including moving goods within the yard and storage areas
- Report any mechanical issues
- Ensure the yard is kept clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and minimise delays
Skills
- Proven experience in a similar role but not essential
- Valid forklift licence or certification is beneficial but not required
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for inventory management
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Previous weighbridge experience would be an advantage
Pay: £12.71 per hour
